VALVE OPTICAL COMPRESSOR
GLA-OP1 The Governor is an vacuum tube-based optical compressor that, – thanks to its dual slope design – employing two threshold points, provides the ability to maintain control over dynamic conditions. Its direct predecessor can be considered the dynamic control that used in the Bishop All-Tube Channel Strip, which, despite providing only a small portion of Bishop’s functionality, has become a notable institution in its own right.

ALL TUBE CHANNEL STRIP
We are proud to announce that the new family member of Gainlab Audio products has arrived! Our own designed BISHOP all tube channel unit brings much more than you expect from a regular high quality channel strip. The heart of the unit based on the mic preamp which consist three vacuum tubes constructed in all tube design. There are inputs for the mic and instrument on the front while mic and line also selectable on back panel. Over the regular switches of phase, polarity and phantom power we found a special drive pot which is available for colouring the instrument input through a discrete solution. The big enlighted eye catching ring for stepped gain selector is separated in two selectable scales which gives ultimate capabilities to make gain even until +60dB.
LIEUTENANT
MONITOR CONTROLLER, COMMAND STATION
The Lieutenant is designed to be the true command center of the studio. It allows you to select between four sources and route them to three destinations, featuring a relay-based volume control. Additionally, its built-in power sequencer can manage the studio’s power distribution across three independent zones. It includes a separate Cue loop with headphone output, complete with a talkback system, as well as a master headphone output. The Lieutenant is a versatile, all-in-one solution for managing monitoring and power in a modern studio environment, ensuring seamless workflow and control.

3x2 BAND PASSIVE EQ
What would be your first though when you hear the term “passive equalizer”? At first, probably you think about the airy high frequency components, the rich subs and the widely applicable cuts and boosts wich can be used alongside each other. These types of equalisers have been around since the early 50’s, the most famous Pultec EQP-1 from Pulse Techniques was the first one that provided simultaneously passive filter circuits alongside high quality line amplifiers. The downside of the EQP-1 was the lack of ability to carry out precision frequency isolation, but it was able to change any sound in its core. Many of the modern equalizers are based on the original EQP-1 in both structure and functions that could be limiting in a modern music environment and production.

DUAL MONO PENTODE VARI-u COMPRESSOR
At Gainlab Audio, we pay special attention to the feedback from our users. A significant portion of these inquiries are about whether it would be possible to use the device in dual mono mode. Due to the unique architecture of the equipment, we had to answer no until now… Dictator is designed to be as versatile as possible on modern materials and to easily integrate into today’s production practice, in addition to it’s traditional vacuum tube design. Originally, the goal was to process two-channel stereo tracks while maintaining the most accurate stereo operation as possible.

500 Series Headphone Amplifier
It is a high-power, crystal-clear sounding device that provides clear and unambiguous feedback about its operating conditions and characteristics, helping to protect both the user’s hearing and the connected headphones. Its main strengths are ultra-low distortion and a linear frequency response, combined with exceptionally large headroom. Thanks to its Class A design, it can drive headphones across a wide impedance range, delivering sufficient power. The connected headphones are protected against DC offset, overcurrent, and power-on transients. With its power and line-level indicators, operation remains predictable and fully reproducible. The unit also offers mono monitoring and an easily accessible mute function. Thanks to its 500-series format, the Auditor fits into any standard 500-series chassis. It is designed to pass the incoming line-level signal through the line outputs unchanged, allowing the signal to be daisy-chained for further monitoring or recording purposes.

PENTODE VARI-u COMPRESSOR
The Dictator is a tube based dynamic controller wich is designed after a classic vari-mu compressors. Theoretically similar to the legendary Fairchild 670 and Gates STA-Level in addition to the contemporary solutions in order to have a better control over the sound. The bespoke design of the branch circuits we just simply call the “mu-follower”. The two channels of the compressor can provide synchronised running throughout the whole range of the transition curve and so excellent gain reduction can be achieved. The time wise working parameters and the saturation characteristics are very familiar to the known tube based compressors.
